Halsey's new single is coming out . . . Did she trick us into giving her a "viral moment"?
About a week ago, HALSEY posted a TikTok video complaining that her label, Capitol Music, wouldn't release her new single unless she faked a "viral moment" on TikTok to market it.
Yesterday, Capitol Tweeted that they support her, and are committed to releasing the song, which is called "So Good", a week from tomorrow.
They added a statement saying, quote, "We are an artist first company that encourages open dialogue. We have nothing but a desire to help each one of our artists succeed, and hope that we can continue to have these critical conversations." Then Halsey hyped the release on her own Instagram, saying she'd been trying to put it out for a long time. But had she? Think about it: Halsey DID go viral on TikTok and had us all talking about her new single . . . which is now being released, prompting us to talk about it AGAIN.
So did Halsey score a victory over her record label, or did she and her label team up and play us all for FOOLS? Discuss.
