The Weeknd just landed his first starring role in a movie. 

 Although it wasn't hard to do, since he also co-wrote it. It doesn't have a title yet, and nobody is sharing plot details.  

But the script was apparently so good that he landed Jenna Ortega from "Wednesday" and Barry Keoghan from "The Banshees of Inisherin" as co-stars.

The Weeknd made his acting debut in 2019's "Uncut Gems" . . . and he stars in the upcoming HBO series "The Idol".
