Muscat – The Main Committee of the Muscat International Book Fair convened its first preparatory meeting on Thursday to discuss arrangements for the upcoming 30th edition of the event.
The meeting, chaired by H E Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Committee, reviewed the general report of the previous edition, including recommendations and key findings from related statistical reports.
In line with efforts to further develop the fair and enhance its organisational standards, the committee discussed initial preparations and proposals for the 30th edition, scheduled to take place from March 26 to April 5, 2026.
The committee also confirmed the participation of Al Wusta Governorate as the Guest of Honour for the milestone edition. Al Wusta’s showcase will highlight the governorate’s rich cultural, historical, and civilisational heritage, as well as its tourism and investment potential.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the cultural programme for the upcoming edition, which will feature seminars, lectures, literary evenings, art performances, and a variety of activities for children.
