Bidiyah – In celebration of the 55th National Day, Bidiyah Club for Car Racing has announced the second edition of the Bidiyah Car Challenge Carnival, to be held from November 19 to 29.
The event is supported by North Sharqiyah Governor’s Office as general supervisor, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism as strategic partner, Oman Automobile Association as supporter and partner, and Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC as official sponsor.
Faisal bin Humaid al Hajri, Chairman of the club, told Muscat Daily that this year’s carnival will offer prizes worth nearly RO50,000, including seven cars for winners and members of the public.
Additionally, the overall champion will drive home in a Range Rover – the grand prize.
The 2025 championship will feature 15 racing categories, covering speed, burnout, backfire, modified classes and turbo stock races. Around 150 racers, including participants from across the GCC, are expected to take part, underlining the event’s growing importance as one of the region’s leading motorsport competitions.
“The Bidiyah Car Challenge has become a major sporting and tourism event, not only enhancing the reputation of North Sharqiyah and the Sharqiyah Sands as a winter destination, but also contributing to Oman’s standing on the regional motorsport map,” Hajri said.
Alongside racing, the carnival will include a consumer exhibition, a tourism and innovation expo, showcase of camping equipment, cultural evenings and family entertainment. Visitors will also be able to experience dune climbing, sandboarding, paragliding, ballooning and cultural activities, making the festival one of the most anticipated highlights of the winter season.
“Last year’s edition attracted significant participation from Omani and GCC champions, and organisers are confident this year’s record prize pool and expanded programme will draw an even larger audience,” Hajri added.
