Muscat – The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Sunday unveiled the official logo of the National Aviation Strategy 2040 as part of its celebration of International Civil Aviation Day.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh al Fadhl bin Mohammed al Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the event brought together key strategic partners from across the civil aviation sector. The launch marks a major milestone in the development of Oman’s aviation industry, covering legislation and governance, airport infrastructure, safety and security, air navigation services, business development and investment, general civil aviation and unmanned aircraft, national talent development, and sustainability and innovation.
The ceremony featured the screening of Beyond the Flight, a short film showcasing the integration between CAA’s various divisions and the technical, operational, and regulatory work carried out by specialised teams to ensure safe and efficient air travel.
Eng Naif bin Ali al Abri, Chairman of the CAA, said the National Aviation Strategy 2040 provides a comprehensive roadmap for the future of the sector and reflects the government’s strong commitment to strengthening aviation as a key driver of Oman’s economy.
He noted that the strategy aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and was developed through a collaborative approach involving state institutions and civil aviation partners. The chairman stressed the sector’s role in enhancing air connectivity, supporting trade and tourism, attracting investment, and enabling growth across vital economic sectors. He also highlighted its importance in strengthening preparedness for global changes and technological advances, while ensuring compliance with international safety, security, and environmental standards.
Abri pointed to the significant progress achieved in recent years in airport infrastructure, air navigation and meteorology, operational services, aviation safety and security, and digital transformation – developments that continue to position Oman as a reliable partner in the global aviation industry.
He also praised the performance of national carriers and airport companies in expanding regional and international routes, enhancing the quality of travel services, and supporting tourism, business, and passenger needs.
At the close of the ceremony, the CAA reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the aviation sector, enhancing cooperation with local and international partners, attracting investments, and empowering the private sector to play an active role in shaping the future of aviation in the Sultanate.
