Doha, Qatar – The Sultanate of Oman participated in the final demonstrations of the joint tactical exercise for security services of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, titled “Arabian Gulf Security 4,” which concluded in Doha, Qatar. H E Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, attended the closing ceremony alongside his counterparts from other GCC member states.
The Omani delegation included representatives from the Royal Oman Police, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, and the Medical City for Military and Security Services. This participation highlights the Sultanate’s commitment to strengthening the joint Gulf security framework and enhancing field coordination and integration between the security services of the region. Upon his arrival at the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), the Minister was received by Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of Lekhwiya.

The concluding exercise featured advanced simulations of rapid intervention operations, counter-terrorism scenarios, and the protection of vital facilities. These activities demonstrated a high level of preparedness, response speed, and precise coordination across various security formations. Additionally, the drills aimed to test operational plans and response mechanisms, reflecting the professionalism of the Gulf security forces and their ability to address evolving regional challenges.
Spanning 11 days, the exercise involved over 70 training hypotheses and more than 260 hours of intensive field training. Specialized units from the United States also participated in the event, contributing to the exchange of expertise and the unification of security concepts. The “Arab Gulf Security” exercise remains a pivotal platform for GCC countries to foster collective response capabilities and ensure regional stability through shared tactical knowledge.
