Muscat – Streets, landmarks and public spaces across Oman have been transformed with striking displays of national pride as the sultanate celebrates National Day 2025. The annual occasion, which holds deep significance for citizens and residents alike, has once again inspired an impressive nationwide effort to mark the milestone.
Across all governorates, major roads are now lined with Omani flags fluttering in the November breeze, while festive light installations in white, green and red illuminate key intersections, roundabouts and city plazas. From long stretches of highways to narrow neighbourhood lanes, the colours of the national flag set the tone for a patriotic celebration.
In Muscat, some of the capital’s most prominent landmarks have received special decorative treatment. The Muscat Municipality headquarters have been lit up with elaborate motifs inspired by traditional Omani architecture, while Muscat International Airport welcomes travellers with eye-catching light patterns reflecting the spirit of the occasion. One of the standout features of the city’s festive makeover is the towering 126m flagpole in Al Khuwair, which now gleams with geometric designs drawing from Omani artistic heritage.

Ministries, public institutions and private sector establishments have also contributed to the celebrations by adorning their facades with lights, banners and mural-style arrangements. Many buildings have coordinated their themes to create a unified visual identity that resonates across the capital and beyond.
Residents say this year’s decorations feel expansive and cohesive, reflecting the growing enthusiasm that accompanies the National Day festivities. Families have begun visiting decorated sites to capture photographs, while businesses and community groups are conducting promotions and events leading up to the National Day holiday.
With streets glowing in the national colours and a festive atmosphere taking hold, Oman is ready to mark National Day 2025 with a renewed sense of pride and unity.
