Salalah – In line with the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to activate marriage support funds across all governorates, the Dhofar Governor’s Office has disbursed RO496,000 to 248 eligible beneficiaries in the governorate.
The programme is part of a nationwide effort to support young Omanis as they begin married life, ease financial pressures and strengthen social cohesion. Officials said the payments were released following a verification process conducted by specialised committees.
An official at the Office of the Governor of Dhofar said Salalah received the largest share with 142 beneficiaries due to its population size. The remaining allocations included 30 in Al Mazyunah, 26 in Taqah, 16 in Thumrait, 10 in Mirbat, nine in Sadah, eight in Shalim and the Hallaniyat Islands, three in Dhalkut, and two each in Maqshin and Rakhyut.
The official added that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to advancing social development in Dhofar and across the sultanate. He said the governorate continues to process new applications to ensure all eligible citizens are covered in future disbursements.
Residents described the Royal gesture as a significant step in supporting young Omanis, particularly those facing financial challenges as they prepare for marriage.
