Musannah – Royal Oman Police has arrested an Asian expatriate on charges of forging local currency. The individual allegedly exploited his position of employment at a commercial outlet in the Wilayat of Musannah to carry out the illegal activities. According to the Royal Oman Police, the suspect was also found to be distributing the counterfeit banknotes through various other retail shops in the area.
Following a successful operation by law enforcement, the forged currency was seized and the individual was taken into custody. The Royal Oman Police confirmed that the necessary legal procedures are being finalised to refer the suspect to the Public Prosecution. Authorities have cautioned business owners and the general public to remain alert when handling cash and to report any suspicious banknotes immediately.
