Muscat, Oman – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, at Al Baraka Palace on Thursday. The meeting served to underscore the enduring bilateral relationship between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation.
During the official engagement, Shoigu conveyed the greetings and sincere good wishes of President Vladimir Putin to His Majesty and the Omani people for continued prosperity and development. His Majesty the Sultan reciprocated, conveying his greetings to the Russian President, and extended wishes for progress and prosperity to the friendly Russian people.

Discussions during the meeting centred on critical aspects of cooperation in the security and military fields. The dignitaries also reviewed avenues for joint collaboration aimed at bolstering efforts to maintain security and stability in the wider region. Additionally, a number of issues of mutual concern were addressed. H E General Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, was in attendance at the meeting.
