Muscat – Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a weather alert regarding an approaching atmospheric trough expected to influence the region from December 28 to 30, 2025.

According to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, this low-pressure system will bring varying intensities of rainfall, with conditions potentially becoming thundery at times during the peak of the system. Initial impacts are expected in the Musandam Governorate on Sunday evening, where rainfall amounts are projected to reach between 5 and 10 mm. As the system progresses through Monday and Tuesday, cloud cover will extend to the northern governorates and the Arabian Sea coast, bringing a risk of wadi flows in Musandam and active northwesterly winds that will trigger dust and a significant drop in temperatures across the country.
