Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched a programme called Oman Scholars, a new initiative designed to nurture talented Omani students and equip them with leadership qualities and 21st century skills in line with Vision 2040.

Implemented in cooperation with Takatuv Oman, the programme targets Omani students in Grade 11 and combines academic excellence with practical learning experiences. It includes a series of assessments, enrichment sessions and seasonal programmes aimed at strengthening students’ academic and personal capabilities.

The ministry said the programme focuses on developing critical and creative thinking, communication, teamwork, digital literacy and social awareness, as well as promoting responsible citizenship and a culture of lifelong learning.

Selected students will pass through multiple stages, including summer and winter enrichment programmes, self-learning modules and advanced preparatory pathways. Outstanding participants may also gain opportunities to pursue studies at leading international schools and universities.

MoE noted that the initiative seeks to identify and support promising Omani youth, enhance the sultanate’s competitiveness in global education indicators and showcase Omani talent on the international stage.

The programme is open to Omani Grade 11 students who meet the academic criteria, including a minimum overall average of 75% and at least 75% in English. Registration details  are available through the ministry’s official communication channels.
