Muscat – H E Pierluigi D’Elia, Italian Ambassador to Oman, has conferred the Ordine della Stella d’Italia (Order of the Star of Italy), with the rank of knighthood, on Donatella Donatelli.

Presented under the patronage of the President of Italy, it is awarded to expatriates and foreign nationals who contribute to preserving and promoting Italy’s national prestige and strengthening bilateral relations – in this case, between Italy and Oman.

Donatella has two decades of experience in marketing and communication, managing international brands and major events while building strong links with agencies and stakeholders. In Oman, she is well known for her work as Head of Marketing and Communication at Mercedes-Benz Oman. In this capacity, she earned the Oman Women of the Year Award in the marketing category as well as Oman’s Most Trusted Brand Award (for Mercedes-Benz Oman) for many years in a row, a testimony to her excellent work in branding practices.

In his remarks, H E D’Elia said, “Donatella represents the excellence and creativity that define the Italian and European spirit. Her achievements, both as a professional and as a proud Italian and European, have built bridges between our two countries and inspired mutual respect and admiration. The Star of Italy is a well-deserved tribute to her dedication and talent.”

Donatella said the recognition “fills me with immense pride and gratitude, not only as an Italian but also as someone deeply passionate about fostering connections between cultures”.

She added, “I am humbled to represent the values of Italian and European excellence and creativity, and to contribute, in my own way, to strengthening the bond between Italy and Oman. My heartfelt thanks to H E Pierluigi D’Elia for choosing me for this honour, to my husband Gerald, and to my parents, Marisa and Elio, for their constant support and inspiration.”
