Muscat – Muscat Municipality has officially cautioned the public regarding the practice of feeding birds in communal areas, highlighting significant health and environmental consequences.
According to the authority, such activities lead to a noticeable increase in insects and rodents, alongside the development of unpleasant odours that affect the local atmosphere. Furthermore, the accumulation of waste contributes to environmental pollution and negatively impacts the aesthetic appearance of public spaces. The municipality also noted that these practices cause considerable disturbance to nearby residents, urging citizens and visitors to refrain from feeding birds to maintain the hygiene and order of the city’s urban environments.
