Muscat – A new national digital initiative, ‘Oman… The State and The Human’ was launched on Wednesday, coinciding with celebrations of the National Day and the first observance of 20 November as the country’s official National Day.

The initiative presents a contemporary narrative of Oman’s statehood and identity through a multilingual digital platform powered by artificial intelligence. It draws on the historic legacy of the Al Busaidi State, founded in 1744, and aims to introduce global audiences to Oman’s institutional evolution.

The platform is structured around three tracks. The first provides a concise account of the Al Busaidi State’s development and its role in shaping modern Oman. The second allows users around the world to send congratulatory messages in their native languages. A smart assistant reads, interprets and converts each message into Arabic while preserving its original meaning.

The third features a live world map displaying the origin of every greeting as it arrives, highlighting the global engagement surrounding the occasion.

Hamood bin Mohammed al Azri

The initiative is led by Hamood bin Mohammed al Azri, who said it reflects the depth of Oman’s historical continuity and presents a modern gateway for telling the country’s story to international audiences. “Through this initiative, we aspire to highlight Oman’s presence in the world through an interactive platform that welcomes messages of goodwill from all nations,” he said.

Dr Saeed al Rashdi oversees the technical framework and AI system engineering. He said the project aligns with the national direction emphasised by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on digital transformation and the adoption of emerging technologies.

The public, both inside and outside the sultanate, is invited to explore the platform, send greetings and follow real-time engagement.
