Doha – Oman Across Ages Museum has signed a memorandum of understanding with Qatar Museums to strengthen cooperation in museum development and heritage preservation.
The agreement was signed at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha on Tuesday, and aims to increase collaboration through the exchange of expertise, joint cultural projects and skills development.
Under the memorandum, both institutions will cooperate in scientific research, training and knowledge-sharing across several fields including exhibitions, visitor services, conservation, marketing, education and translation. It also provides for hosting joint exhibitions, conferences and seminars, as well as organising reciprocal visits by experts and specialists.
The two sides agreed to exchange information on museum policies, modern technologies, media development and cultural programming. The cooperation will also cover the exchange of exhibits.
The MoU was signed by Al Yaqdhan bin Abdullah al Harthi, Director General of the Oman Across Ages Museum, and Mohammed Saad al Rumaihi, CEO of Qatar Museums.
Harthi said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to cultural cooperation and the preservation of national heritage. He said this partnership would support the exchange of experience and help build national capabilities in the museum sector.
The signing underscores the two countries’ efforts to strengthen cultural ties and present heritage to future generations through modern and effective methods.
