Muscat – The second edition of the Oman Internship Fair will be held on January 26 at the Diplomatic Club, bringing together graduates from four universities and leading companies.
The initiative is designed to familiarise graduates with real workplace environments through various structured internship programmes of three months, six months or up to one year, with companies operating in Oman.
The fair is organised by Europcar, powered by AmCham Oman and supported by British Business Forum Oman, INMECC and Crowe Oman. This reflects growing private-sector involvement in youth development and workforce readiness.
This year’s edition will feature graduates from the National University, Majan College, the German University of Technology in Oman and the Arab Open University. A total of 65 companies are set to participate, marking an increase from the inaugural edition and signalling rising industry confidence in internship-led talent development.
Organisers said around 580 interns from the participating institutions are expected to benefit from the programme. Of these, 220 interns have already been selected ahead of the fair.
Graduates from a range of academic disciplines will have the opportunity to interact directly with recruiters, gaining insight into workplace expectations, corporate culture and potential career pathways across multiple sectors.
Nitin Sapre, CEO of Europcar, said internships play a critical role in preparing graduates for the labour market. “Internships expose graduates to real work culture and help them understand employer expectations. They also play a crucial role in developing soft skills among students,” he said.
Referring to the previous edition, Sapre added, “Last year’s programme was very successful, and we are confident this edition will deliver even stronger outcomes.”
He said the Oman Internship Fair has become an effective platform for collaboration between academia and industry, supporting graduates as they move from education into employment while contributing to the development of Oman’s future workforce.
The event will begin at 9am.
