Doha, Qatar – Oman is participating in the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, currently being held in Doha, Qatar. Represented by the State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution, the Omani delegation is led by Sheikh Ghosn bin Hilal al Alawi. The conference, which runs until December 19, serves as a premier international platform for strengthening integrity and combating corruption, drawing participation from 192 signatory nations alongside various international organisations and professional institutions.

Oman participates in Global UN Anti-Corruption

In his address, Sheikh Hilal Al Alawi emphasised Oman’s dedication to international cooperation and the exchange of expertise to promote sustainable development. He noted that Oman’s participation aligns with the “Oman 2040” vision, which prioritises effective oversight, accountability, and the efficient use of public funds.

Since joining the UN convention in 2013, the Sultanate has introduced several strategic initiatives, including the National Plan for Promoting Integrity 2022–2030, which focuses on legislative development and institutional integration to curb corruption and protect national resources.
