South Sharqiyah – South Sharqiyah Municipality has completed a major inspection campaign aimed at bolstering food safety and protecting public health across the region. Conducted by the Food Control and Licensing Department, municipal inspectors carried out rigorous checks on 184 food establishments to ensure their full compliance with approved health and safety regulations.
The initiative led to the discovery of several breaches, resulting in the issuance of 17 health violations. Additionally, 18 destruction reports were filed after officials identified a total of 154.15 kg of food items that were deemed unfit for human consumption. These items were immediately removed from circulation and destroyed to prevent any risk to the community. Authorities have reiterated that such intensified monitoring is essential to maintaining high sanitary standards and ensuring that all food vendors operate within the legal framework to safeguard consumer wellbeing.
