DhofarAs part of early preparations for Dhofar Khareef 2026, Dhofar Municipality has announced the opening of registration for temporary commercial activities during the busy monsoon tourism season.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the municipality said applications will be open exclusively to Omani citizens, in line with approved regulations and operational guidelines aimed at ensuring an organised, safe and vibrant season that reflects the unique character of Dhofar.
Registration will commence on March 1 and continue until March 15. The initiative forms part of an integrated municipal plan to regulate seasonal economic activities, enhance service standards and provide structured opportunities for small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs and productive families to participate in the annual tourism boom.
The municipality stressed that temporary activities will be subject to specific health, safety and environmental requirements, as well as location guidelines to preserve public spaces and maintain smooth visitor movement across key sites in Salalah and surrounding wilayats.
It urged those wishing to undertake temporary activities during the khareef season to follow its official communication channels for detailed information on registration procedures, requirements and submission mechanisms, which will be announced in due course.
Dhofar Khareef, held annually during the monsoon months, draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from across Oman and the wider region, making seasonal activities a vital contributor to the governorate’s tourism-driven economy.
