Muscat – Secretariat General for National Celebrations has finalised preparations for the inauguration of national development projects aligned with the country’s National Day events. The programme highlights key investments in infrastructure, industry, health services and food security, with a combined value of around RO1.41bn.
The Secretariat coordinated with government entities to set opening dates and confirm operational readiness. Major industrial projects scheduled for launch include the polysilicon plant in Sohar Free Zone (RO615mn), Al Ghaith Chemical Industries (RO9.6mn), the sugar refinery at Sohar Port (RO141.5mn), an industrial bakery in Khazaen Economic City (RO25mn), the Dibba fishing port development (RO39mn), and an animal and fish feed plant in Khazaen (RO36mn).

Projects implemented by OQ Group, totalling RO38.5mn, will also be inaugurated. These include infrastructure works in several governorates, among them the dual carriageway on the Southern National Highway in Al Wusta (RO23.5mn) and National Highway 23 towards Ras Markaz (RO59.3mn).
Water infrastructure forms a significant share of the programme, with Nama Water Services launching projects worth RO408mn across multiple governorates. These include the phase two upgrade of the water transmission line in Dakhliyah (RO128.1mn), reinforcement of transmission lines in North and South Batinah (RO86mn), phase one of water networks in North Sharqiyah (RO65.5mn), and upgrades to transmission systems in South Sharqiyah and North Sharqiyah (RO128.4mn). The initiatives aim to improve system efficiency and expand coverage.
Health sector projects will also be opened as part of the National Day schedule. These include Al Suwaiq Referral Hospital in North Batinah (RO78.5mn), the Central Public Health Laboratory (RO30mn), and Khasab Referral Hospital in Musandam (RO65.9mn).
