Initiative aims to boost public trust and national cohesion through effective leadership engagement

Muscat – The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has launched the Societal Communication Programme, a pioneering initiative targeting 50 senior public sector leaders—25 Under-Secretaries and 25 Directors-General—to strengthen community engagement and enhance communication between government and society.

The initiative is in line with the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and supports the national priorities outlined in Oman Vision 2040. It aims to equip participants with the tools to foster trust, navigate societal challenges, and contribute meaningfully to national development efforts.

The programme seeks to empower leaders with a community-centred communication approach, increasing their awareness of public needs and enabling them to clearly implement government policies. It also focuses on enhancing crisis management capabilities and leadership strategies in public communication.

Running until September 10, 2025, the comprehensive learning journey will include thematic modules covering strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, gauging public opinion, and leadership in the Omani societal context. Participants will also explore the role of public communication in building social cohesion and involving citizens in decision-making.

The course will be delivered through a dynamic blend of lectures, interactive workshops, case studies, and real-world scenario analysis. Guest speakers and experts in leadership and community engagement from within Oman will contribute to the sessions, offering practical insights and best practices.

RAM stated that the programme reflects the strategic importance of community communication in fostering a cohesive society that is adaptable to change. By promoting public awareness, dialogue, and trust-based relationships, the initiative is expected to make a significant contribution to the nation’s sustainable development goals and future aspirations.
