Muscat – Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr al busaidi held a telephone conversation this evening with António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations.
The call discussed developments in the sisterly Republic of Yemen and the UN’s ongoing efforts to support the peace process and address humanitarian challenges.
The Secretary General expressed his deep appreciation to Oman for its efforts that led to resolving the situation of a number of UN staff in Yemen, praising the humanitarian and diplomatic role played by Oman under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in supporting the UN’s endeavours to promote peace and stability in Yemen.
The conversation also touched on developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, with both sides underscoring the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and ensuring the unhindered flow of relief and humanitarian aid.
