Salalah – The second edition of the World Mental Health Day exhibition was inaugurated today at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah. The exhibition, themed “Improving Mental Health in the Workplace,” was organised by the university with the participation of 15 government and private entities in Dhofar Governorate, in addition to the university’s branches.

The opening ceremony was sponsored by Dr Saeed bin Hamad al Rubaie, President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, who honored the participating entities in the exhibition.

 Dr. Ahmed bin Ali al Shahari, Assistant Vice Chancellor of the University of Salalah, explained that organising the exhibition reflects the university’s commitment to spreading awareness about mental health and its impact on raising productivity and quality of life. He emphasised the importance of cooperation between government and private institutions in supporting initiatives that promote mental health in the community.

The exhibition includes informational booths and awareness-raising services provided by a number of participating health, educational, and social institutions, focusing on methods for dealing with stress and psychological problems, and ways to promote positive mental health in various aspects of life.

The exhibition aims to highlight the importance of mental health in the lives of individuals, society, and the academic work environment. It also aims to raise awareness of the need to care for mental health to achieve balance and quality of life. It also aims to provide psychological support and guidance, and encourage healthy practices that contribute to building a positive and sustainable work environment.
