Muscat – Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued an urgent recall for specific batches of Nestlé infant formula following international reports of potential contamination with the cereulide toxin. The ministry has advised all citizens and residents to immediately cease the use of any products suspected to be part of the affected batches, which include select NAN OptiPro 1, NAN Comfort 1, and S-26 Ultima products. While no illnesses have been reported in the Sultanate to date, the toxin is known to cause symptoms such as severe vomiting, nausea, and abdominal pain.

In coordination with relevant authorities and the manufacturer, the ministry is overseeing the comprehensive withdrawal of these items from the Omani market. Consumers are urged to verify batch numbers against official lists and dispose of any suspected products safely. Healthcare officials have stressed that anyone exhibiting symptoms after consuming the formula should seek immediate medical attention. This precautionary measure remains a priority to ensure the continued safety of infants and public health across the nation.
