Muscat – In a move aimed at boosting graduate employability and strengthening the national workforce, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI) has signed a cooperation programme with the Military and Security Services Pension Fund.

The agreement was signed by H E Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. It seeks to align higher education outcomes with labour market needs while creating new opportunities for Omani graduates to secure meaningful employment in specialised sectors.

The strategic partnership forms part of the ministry’s broader efforts to support Oman’s vision for workforce nationalisation and sustainable economic growth.

Under the agreement, the Military and Security Services Pension Fund will employ graduates from its sponsored academic programmes, primarily those holding bachelor’s degrees. Other specialisations may also be considered through mutual agreement between the two parties.

The sponsorship programme will support General Diploma graduates from 2025 to 2028, providing a steady pathway for students to enter specialised fields that meet labour market demands, particularly in technical and strategic areas.
