Muscat – More than 134,900 donors used Oman’s official Jood charity platform in 2025, contributing over RO1.67mn, figures that underline growing public trust in regulated digital channels for charitable giving, the Ministry of Social Development stated.
Launched in October 2023, Jood brings together licensed volunteer teams on a single official platform, enabling donations to reach beneficiaries securely, transparently and efficiently under government oversight. The number of volunteer teams registered on the platform has reached 64, helping organise fundraising activities across the sultanate.
The ministry said the platform is part of broader efforts to regulate charitable and volunteer work while ensuring accountability and fair distribution of aid.
In 2025, the ministry also introduced the Ayadi platform, Oman’s first digital system dedicated to managing volunteer work professionally. More than 1,000 volunteers and 45 organisations registered on the platform during the year.
The ministry said civil society organisations play a vital role in supporting social development by responding to community needs and strengthening social cohesion. It informed that it attaches great importance to the sector through its supervisory role, aimed at empowering civil society organisations, regulating their activities, supporting their programmes and enhancing institutional performance to achieve sustainable social development.
H E Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed al Shamsi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Social Development, said civil society organisations are key partners in supporting social development, noting that volunteer work in Oman operates within a clear regulatory framework that strengthens governance and ensures the sustainability of humanitarian efforts.
