Rustaq – The Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in South Batinah has announced plans to conduct more than 2,000 religious, outreach and awareness activities during the holy month of Ramadan as part of a comprehensive programme targeting various segments of society and promoting ethical and faith-based values.
These are part of the department’s ongoing efforts to deepen religious awareness, reinforce the principles of moderation and balance, and deliver impactful outreach that responds to community needs during the spiritually significant season.
Dr Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Siyabi, Director of the department, said this year’s plans include hundreds of sermons, lectures, lessons and religious talks to be held in mosques, schools and community centres.
He added that the activities also feature specialised outreach initiatives and translated lectures for non-Arabic speakers to enhance cultural understanding and highlight Islam’s values of tolerance and humanity. Digital platforms will also be used to broadcast Quran recitations, daily supplications and short religious messages.
Al Siyabi informed that the Women’s Education and Guidance Centre in the governorate has prepared an extensive schedule for Ramadan, comprising 1,135 activities and awareness programmes across the governorate.
These sessions for women include 420 lessons and lectures in Nakhl and Wadi Al Maawil, 331 in Rustaq and 180 in Musannah. In Barka, the plans include 180 in-person lessons and 20 online programmes.
The centre will also run four awareness campaigns under the theme ‘Soothing Souls’, focusing on spiritual and psychological well-being, alongside four school guidance campaigns for female students aimed at strengthening values, building self-awareness, and supporting mental and behavioural health.
Al Siyabi added that these activities are within the framework of the advocacy and educational role undertaken by the centre, and its continuous endeavour to provide quality programmess that address the needs of society.
