Muscat – The Youth Centre has unveiled an ambitious Ramadan 2026 programme featuring a wide-ranging package of training initiatives aimed at empowering Omani youth and fostering innovation, creativity and community engagement.
To be held at the centre’s headquarters in Muscat Grand Mall, the programmes target young people aged 15 to 34 and reflect a broader national focus on investing in youth potential while encouraging meaningful use of time during the holy month.
The initiative is expected to benefit at least 1,000 young men and women through a carefully curated mix of professional, technological, cultural and social programmes. The centre stated that the package is designed to nurture a generation capable of adapting to rapid global changes while remaining rooted in cultural identity and community values.
Blending tradition with innovation, the Ramadan agenda features both in-person and virtual tracks. Among the highlights is a specialised programme on the vocal modes of the Adhan, offering participants practical training in traditional maqamat and delivery techniques that combine artistic excellence with spiritual resonance.
Participants can also explore the aesthetics of heritage through the ‘Experience the Skill of Arabic Calligraphy’ programme, which introduces foundational techniques and artistic principles of this timeless craft.
Sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to take part in ‘Try the Skills of Sports Commentary’, a hands-on programme covering voice control, sports analysis and live commentary techniques. Meanwhile, the competitive Six-a-Side Football challenge aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship in a dynamic Ramadan setting.
Technology and innovation feature prominently in this year’s package. A 3D Concrete Printing programme will introduce participants to emerging construction technologies and architectural design principles, offering insights into one of the sector’s most promising advancements.
In a strong nod to inclusivity, the centre is also launching a dedicated artificial intelligence programme for the visually impaired. The initiative will demonstrate smart tools that support navigation, text recognition and device interaction, enhancing independence while raising awareness of assistive technologies.
Digital empowerment is another key pillar of the Ramadan programme. Through Digital Advertising Campaign Management, participants will gain practical experience in planning and executing advertising campaigns across Meta platforms — from defining objectives and identifying target audiences to budget management and performance analysis.
Virtual learning options include Data Analysis Using Power BI, aimed at strengthening analytical and data visualisation skills, as well as the Virtual Youth Academy via LinkedIn, which focuses on self-learning strategies and professional development in an increasingly competitive job market.
Complementing the training tracks, the centre will organise a series of community-focused events throughout the month. Chief among them is the Ramadan Youth Gathering, featuring a collective iftar and an awards ceremony recognising winners of sporting and recreational competitions. The programme will conclude with a youth market and interactive challenges, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration, entrepreneurship and social connection that defines Ramadan.
