The Weeknd has been given the key to his hometown of Toronto, Ontario.
According to Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, The Weeknd received his key for his contributions to music, social issues and culture.
“He has reshaped modern music while using his platform to support health and humanitarian causes at home and around the world,” she said in a statement.
After receiving the key to the city in Toronto, The Weeknd set the record at Rogers Centre for the most shows by a male solo artist with six headline performances on a single tour.
He also broke the record for any Canadian artist.
